Nicholas Zacky talks about his book “Blessed”
We recently had an interview with Nicholas Zacky who has recently published his book “Blessed”. We are sharing the conversation with our readers here.
Pro Media Mag : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career.
Nicholas Zacky : My name is Nicholas Zacky I’m 29 years old My day job is currently being a butler with a 5 star hotel.Started my first job in working in a supermarket, as young as 16 years Old. Moved to worked for a retail store also for a couple of months.
Did a couple of cool jobs after like did the opening for Abercrombie & Fitch when they brought the first store to Singapore and during the night I was working as a club promoter getting commission for every bottler of liquor I sold and getting paid like 7$ for every girl I brought into the club. Got to learn so much from all this odd jobs looking back at them it totally define who I am today.
And when I was 18 years old it’s compulsory for every Male Singaporean citizen to serve the country for 2 years. I got the chance to be a sergeant in the Singapore civil defence force where I was leading a group of 20 fireman.
It was indeed the best 2 years of my life and with so much great memories and got to meet some really great people who I don’t called brother but I called them family.
When I turn I 21, I nailed Me-self my first full time job where I joined a prestigious airline as a flight attendant, where I spend 5 years.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into writing?
Nicholas Zacky : Honestly I ain’t the biggest fan of writing neither am I a biggest fan of reading books. I remember how much I hated reading books when my parents forced me to read to improve on my English, and here we are today with my Very own published book.
I started writing after flying with a 5 star airlines for 5 years I was a flight attendant. After flying I release that I had I a lot of events and misfortune that would make a great book.
I was once out with my boys we were having a couple of drinks, and I’m always that guy in the table always talking and sharing all kinds of stories and that night I was just doing my thing, and my mate goes like dude if you were to ever write a book I’ll be the first one buying it. And that’s when it hits me and I wanted to do whatever it takes to get my book published.
Pro Media Mag : You have released your book “Blessed” recently. What kind of response you have received so far?
Nicholas Zacky : It’s been great , So far I’m only selling to close friends and family. Some friends are telling me on the grammatical errors on the book , and their feedbacks may be not be positive but it’s all good hey its my first book you can’t expect a JK Rowling outta my first book.
Pro Media Mag : You need some specific kind of environment for writing?
Nicholas Zacky : Starbucks or any coffee shops are always very healthy places for me to write I get very distracted at home when I’m writing So getting anywhere helps with writing
Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being an author?
Nicholas Zacky : I Guess when it’s your first book people don’t see it coming. The surprise from family and friends and very thrilling indeed.
Pro Media Mag : Have you set any goals to achieve?
Nicholas Zacky : Getting the book “ blessed “ completed and published was such a huge relief and such a great accomplishment nice me-self. And it’s the biggest thing I’ve done so far in my life and I can’t wait for the next chapter.
Pro Media Mag : Are you working on any new project?
Nicholas Zacky : As of now I do not have any plans on writing my second book But I will say no when the opportunity arrives I never like to limit myself telling myself to do this and not to do that. The world is my playground and I feel I could do absolutely anything and everything. And when I do something do start on something new, I’ll put my heart and soul into it.
