Melvin Fromm Jr. is a talented artist, songwriter and music producer. We recently had a conversation with him about his passion for music and his professional life.
Pro Media Mag : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : I started out writing lyrics of country music in 1999 and had my songs demo out by some of the best studio people when I started and had a Canada DJ really like my music and give it lots of airplay that started to open the doors to my music with a lot of hard work and the grace of God. I began to write, produce & record my own instrumental songs in mid 2015 and have had over 200 + countries put my music on radio since the start of my music path. I also got picked up by the #1 backgound environmental music company in Asia and worldwide in 2017 as they have picked up 233 of my songs so far to date to be played in places like restaurants, retail outlets, shopping malls, hotels across south east Asia in countries like Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand,and Indonesia. They have also helped my music get plays in Dairy Queen, Domino Pizza, and Dunkin Donuts worldwide.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : It all started by writing a letter to my then girlfriend now wife Percy telling her how I felt and thought wow this sounds like a country song so I sat down and wrote my first song called “What I Feel” as with the grace of God, lots of hard work, and some really good people I just kept on rolling from then on. Oh yeah my gilrfriend/wife Percy really liked the song a lot and this song has been picked up also by the number #1 background environmental music company in Asia in 2017 to be released worldwide. God put a talent in me I never knew I had and brought out in his timing.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recent release?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : Well I am working on a lot of new instrumental songs with some new studio people in 2018 to submit to the background environmental music company I am working with to see what they will pick up and release worldwide.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : I have heard a lot of great feedback on this new music I have released so far in 2018 with some reviews and people in the music industry that has heard it. Really looking forward to see what unfolds in 2018 with the grace of God and my hard work.
Pro Media Mag : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : I am very attracted to working in the studios because I can work with many music people to bring my new music to life and always in the studio almost everyday working on new music with a great group of people helping me and the grace of God always touching my music to bring it out of me.
Pro Media Mag : You have performed at a number of places, what’s your best performance so far?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : Well the most exciting was my very first phone interview by the Canada DJ in 2001 as I could not believe it was happening to me. In the interview they played four of my songs and interviewed me for half hour total about my music. The Canada DJ called me that night and told me how well it went off and he even sent me a tape of the interview show also. The Canada DJ did four phone interviews with me over the next few years before he past away as he will always be an angel God put in my life and I will never forget that gift God placed in my life.
Pro Media Mag : What’s the biggest achievement in your career so far?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : Being able with the grace of God to write, produce & record my own stunning & stylistic instrumental songs that has got picked up in 2017 by the number #1 background environmental music company in Asia as it will open up a lot more doors to my music as we move forward. Wow how great is our God!
Pro Media Mag : Are you currently working on any other project?
Melvin Fromm Jr. : Well besides working on lots of new music for background environmental music company in 2018 I am also in contact with some companies that work with film & tv that is looking at my music to see if we can workout some kind of deal as I leave all in God’s hands.
