Timothy Burgin is a Kripalu & Pranakriya trained yoga instructor living and teaching in Asheville, NC. Timothy has completed his 500-hour Advanced Pranakriya Yoga training and currently serves as the Executive Director of YogaBasics.com. We are sharing our recent interview with him.

Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Timothy Burgin : I am the founder and creator of YogaBasics.com. It was started in late 2000 as a comprehensive guide and resource to the study and practice of yoga. It has grown significantly over the years to include thousands of pages of information covering yoga poses, yoga breathing, meditation, lifestyle, philosophy, history, and other practices.

Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into this industry?
Timothy Burgin : I became very interested in how the Internet and websites worked from the very beginning. At the time there were only a handful of yoga websites and they were very poorly designed and had very limited information and resources. I taught myself how to code and create websites and decided to try and make a world class website on Yoga for my yoga students as well as everyone who was seeking this knowledge.

Pro Media Mag : You have completed his 500-hour Advanced Pranakriya Yoga training. It must be a very tough ask?
Timothy Burgin : Yes, it took me several years to complete the training. There were several modules that were very physically mentally and emotionally intense.

Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your role as Executive Director at YogaBasics.com?
Timothy Burgin : YogaBasics is a very small team and so I am involved with all aspects of the business. My favorite role is to oversee the creative aspects of the company.Because the website has grown so big and fast it takes a lot of work to keep everything running smoothly.

Timothy Burgin : The benefits of yoga are great and fast. There have been tons of research studies over the last several decades showing how yoga I can heal back pain, boost the immune system, increase flexibility muscle strength and tone, and improve Energy, vitality, respiration, metabolism, circulation, posture, focus, concentration, balance, and sleep.
