Spirit Led Ministries is a faith-based counseling service dedicated to helping people through life’s troubling times. Founded by Jaques and Toshia Posey, Spirit Led Ministries provides individual life coaching, marriage and relationship coaching, and couples event services with a focus on Christian principles. Jaques and Toshia are professional life and marriage coaches who co-authored Spirit Led Marriage, Our Journey, which was the catalyst for their Christian ministry.

First of all, please introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Jacques Posey. I am Toshia Posey who are affectionately known as Teamposey. We have been married for 11 years. We are the founders of Spirit Led Ministries which focuses on marriage and relationships.

Who or what inspired you to launch ‘Spirit Led Ministries’?
After experiencing turmoil in the first six years of our marriage, we received healing, restoration and a new vision for our marriage and family. We would often share our testimony as we felt led, but in March of 2017, the Lord gave us a mandate to officially help other couples. We began to realize that God had started preparing us years ago through our education and person experience.

What exactly are the services you are providing?
We are providing biblical marriage and relationship coaching for individuals and groups. We offer seminars, conferences and retreats to help strengthened the marriage and relationships. Also, we offer biblically based teachings through our literary work.

Tell us about your book ‘Spirit Led Marriage, Our Journey’?
Spirit Led Marriage, Our Journey is our personal testimony towards self-awareness, healing, deliverance, self-denial, true commitment and spiritual growth. This all occurred because of the many storms that we encountered in the first six years of our marriage. We share how our marriage was snatched from the brink of divorce by the word of God and the willingness to transform our mind.

You clients belongs to some specific field or region?
Our clients vary in region and nationality. We have had clients that reach out to us as far as California and as close as Florida. Our clients are both affluent and nonaffluent individuals.

What about Black Men and Women marriage?
As we know, according to recent statistics, between 40-50 percent of all marriages end in divorce. That rate is even higher for African-Americans, with 70% ending in divorce. Furthermore, we know that blended families are the leading family style in today’s marriages. Their divorce rates are approximately 67%.

What kind of difficulties couples can face in such marriage?
We found that many couples face difficulties due to the lack of knowledge and understanding of the roles of husband and wife. Another difficulty couples face is directly related to the original intention each party may have had for marrying. An example of this is marrying because one or both parties believe that this could help them financially.

What would be your advice?

Our advice which is the same that we had to apply in our marriage.

  • Allow God in their marriage and not the world. Apply godly values and ethical attitudes and remove the superficial values and customs that you’ve learned growing up through life experiences.
  • Be totally committed to each other and the process of transformation.
  • Seek counseling to help them to devise a plan for their marriage as well as how to carry it out.
