Interview with American Hip Hop Artist Major D-Star

We are sharing our recent interview with music artist Major D-Star

Pro Media Mag: First of all tell us about the start of your music career.
Major: The start of my music career was like seeing a shooting star in the sky but actually seeing it in myself. As a kid, I started out verbally rapping lyrics at the age of six. By the time I turned ten, I wrote and recorded my first song. My journey had begun. I learned how to write, produce, mix and engineer my own vocals as well as other artists to where I could help develop, consult and put them in position by the time I was 21 years old. I started building relationships and studying the game at the age of sixteen. It was like I put myself in the position to win. I developed a positive motivational mindset that nobody could stop. So from then until now, my fans have seen the growth in not only my music, but me as a human being. My first hit single, “Stuck Up” was released in 2012 and the rest was history.

Pro Media Mag: Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Major: Some of the greats who came before me. Biggie, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and even Ludacris are some of the artists who made it look easy and inspired me. Can’t forget to mention some of the legendary artists from other genres like Michael Jackson, Prince and many more. I just love music.

Pro Media Mag: Tell us about your recent release ?
Major: My brand new single, “Whole Nother Level” produced by CashMoneyAp just dropped in stores! It’s a special one because it talks about how much adversity you’re going to have to go through to get to the top. Especially when nobody sees your vision but you. They only rock with you when they see everybody else rocking with you. It’s just how the game goes so I’m just sticking to the code telling it like it is. That’s what it’s about to me real hip-hop telling your story and the truth.

Pro Media Mag: What kind of response you have received from the release?
Major: So far nothing but positive feedback so I’m really feeling good about this one. It’s perfect timing to what’s going on in the music industry right now.

Pro Media Mag: What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
Major: Working in the studio attracts me more because it’s nothing like starting off from scratch and putting everything together piece by piece… it’s like magic. Like watching your kid grow or if you were seeding a plant. There’s beauty in it and there’s nothing like that feeling. But at the same time, performing on stage is on A Whole Nother Level as well so it’s hard to choose, but in my opinion you can’t beat that creative process of actually making the music first.

Pro Media Mag: What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Major: Having a voice and just being able to have an influence on people. By giving them something to listen to through the good times and the bad times. We inspire, we motivate and we teach you how to hustle!

Pro Media Mag: Have you set any goals to achieve?
Major: Yes, every single year. This year is to have a breakout single that get’s a million streams. Every year I achieve my goals because they are realistic.

Pro Media Mag: Are you working on any new project?
Major: My debut album just dropped at the top of the year, “Major Payne”. No pain, no gain.
