Conversation with Author & Praise Dancer LaShae’ Whitley
We are sharing our recent interview with author and praise dancer LaShae’ Whitley.
Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers?
LaShae’ Whitley : Well, first and foremost my name is LaShae’ Whitley. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio on April 11th. I am a mother, daughter, serial entrepreneur, author and praise dancer. I am a very family oriented person. I love walks in the park, being by water, spending time with family, and of course most and foremost I love worshiping God.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into writing?
LaShae’ Whitley : I never thought about writing a book, but I was always was a person that loved to write in my journal, it was my way of venting. It wasn’t until I found God that he deposited the book into my spirit. Even than it took me awhile to finally finish the book, and the biggest reason for that is the fact that God was still writing my story.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your writing style ?
LaShae’ Whitley : This is my first book and I must say I’m super excited. I believe that I don’t specifically have a writing style but I love being used as a vessel for God to exalt him through my books, and to write whatever the Holy Spirit deposits into my spirit. I love telling testimonies or other words people stories to reach people who may be enduring what you are going through to show them that there is better and that there is freedom, and hope and it’s through Jesus Christ.
Pro Media Mag : You recently published/ wrote any book?
LaShae’ Whitley : Yes, I just recently published and wrote my first book LaShae’ vs. Layla and it was released on April 11th, 2020 which is also my birthday!
Pro Media Mag : You are also a praise dancer, What’s the best part of being a praise dancer?
LaShae’ Whitley : The best part about praise dancing is the worshiping of God. I absolutely love being in the presence of God. I also am honored to be used as a vessel to help set captives free through my gift of praise dancing.
Pro Media Mag : We came to know about your love for charity work, can you share your thoughts with our readers?
LaShae’ Whitley : I love giving back to people who are less fortunate, it just does something to my heart. I know how it feels to be in certain positions in your life and how just a small act of kindness can brighten someone’s day and not make them feel so alone. Somethings I have done to help is making dental care packages and passed them out to the homeless shelters. I had an idea also to do a baby drive to help single mothers by giving them baby clothing for their children. I also volunteer at the nursing homes and have set up something to where I can also praise dance there as well for them. The bible says, “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:13 NLT
Pro Media Mag : Have you set any goals to achieve?
LaShae’ Whitley : Absolutely! And I believe that we all should. The bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish..” Proverbs 29:18 KJV I’m patiently working with God to begin a praise dance ministry teaching children and adults how to worship God through dance. Not only teaching, but all of us being used by God to help set captives free through praise dancing. I also have a goal to start a program for troubled teen girls who have been rejected or abandoned by their parents. This program will offer them resources to help steer them into a better future, and give them better opportunities and support because I know what that feels like as a young girl.
Pro Media Mag : Are you working on any new projects?
LaShae’ Whitley : Yes, I am currently working on writing a children’s book for my son, working on the praise dance ministry, and expanding me and my son’s vending machine business.
