Stephanie Stern interview

We have recently interviewed multi-talented Stephanie Stern (aka Stefany Stern). Writer, Director, Producer and Actress Stephanie is taking the Entertainment bull by the horns with her newest creation: Double Jack, a short form IGTV comedy series. A native Texan, she has acted on TV, Commercials, Indie Films and Stages in four different US states and toured throughout South East Asia. You may have seen her doing stand up at Comic Strip Live in NYC or in LA at Comedy Store, Flappers or Garrett Morris’ Downtown Comedy Club, on TV in My Haunted House or indie horror film with Eric Roberts, No Solicitors.

To know more about her, here is  our conversation with her.

Pro Media Mag : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career.
Stephanie Stern : When I was 5 I played Snow White in our school play. Oh wait! You mean the first time I got paid for it…? Well I’m still waiting on the check to come in the mail! LOL . The big check that is. 🙂
Actually when I was first paid for my acting was a commercial I did for a local University when I was in Junior High about 11yrs old.

Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into this industry?
Stephanie Stern : Applause. Was hooked the first time I received any. My father was a Cowboy musician, poet and actor.

Pro Media Mag : You recently released a short form IGTV comedy series ‘Double Jack’. Tell us more about that?
Stephanie Stern : So fun! Yes, thanks for asking! It’s about a Construction Company that hires a countrified recent female parolee who’s not the sharpest tool in the box. Season One is 6 episodes all under 10minutes. I wanted to create a show that would bring a smile to my face, was easy to watch on IGTV in line waiting somewhere & I felt I could manage. It’s my first creation from idea and script to screen! Thank goodness for our awesomely talented cast and crew that made it happen! Couldn’t of done any of it without them. I’m so grateful and fortunate they’re such good humans! It would’ve really sucked if they weren’t! LOL

Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Stephanie Stern : Wonderful. Really so great. It’s been humbling, ya know, there’s so much to watch. So many shows, so many people with their own thing going on so to have people watch what I’ve created and our team has worked so hard to bring it to life just blows me away! I’m so grateful and excited and humbled! That people would watch it, like it and then tell us!! That’s the part I love when they tell me how much they related or loved an episode. Incredible!

Pro Media Mag : Do you need some certain kind of environment for writing?
Stephanie Stern : Oh my goodness! Yes! Quiet. No distractions.

Pro Media Mag : You have acted on TV, Commercials, Indie Films and Stages, what do you enjoy the most?
Stephanie Stern : Ohhhh good Pro Media Mag! Thanks for doing your research about me. You’re good! It’s a hard one to ask. I love the legacy of film & TV. And the applause from live Theatre or Stand Up is hard to compare to anything else. Can I get back to ya on that one?! LOL Tough choice!

Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being an artist?
Stephanie Stern : the freedom. Every creation I create (really I’m just a conduit of something so much bigger) is a freeing act I share with the world.

Pro Media Mag : Are you working on any new project?
Stephanie Stern : Good grief yes! I’ve got a few projects in Development and a couple in Pre Production. And those are just mine! Not the projects I’m doing with other people.

Pro Media Mag : What’s the best way to follow you online?
Stephanie Stern : Grab on! Follow me @stephaniebstern on IG, Twitter, FB, YouTube for Double Jack Series, soon to have my own YouTube channel. For now it’s Double Jack Series.
