I was searching for something inspiring and heart touching to share with my readers and came across Under My Skin by Katrina Stuart. It’s a 10 track album with almost all the tracks worth listening. It’s is an inspiring album with a beautiful message. It centers around feelings and inner side of a person. Before going more deep into this album let’s have a glimpse of Katrina’s music journey.
Katrina Stuart is a musician and performer originally from Toronto, Canada currently living in Los Angeles, CA. Starting at age 4, she began developing her skills by creating her own music and performing at a variety of events and venues such as schools, talent contests, and her local church. Katrina is also an actor, dancer, and model who has appeared in television commercials, magazine advertisements and short films.
Starting as a contestant in the second Elimination Round for Musicash’s show, Katrina won the round proceeding as a finalist by winning the Most Voted. Shortly after, Katrina signed with Musicash Records. As a finalist, Katrina competed against 10 other finalists to win a part of $80,000 in the Musicash Grand Finale on November 16th.
Now coming back to the album Under My Skin, it’s pretty hard to take out a song or two to review. The choice was difficult, but the one that impressed me the most is “Fly Away”. This dramatic piece creates an intense, rhythmic, driving, angular sound that is quite contemporary;. The rich and resonant brass and the crisp and exact percussion dominate the scene throughout, as the main theme is somewhat developed.
Freshness of sound, absence of musical cliches, colorful work, use of sonorous pedal-points, the crisp and intense combination of tones proves to be a mood changer. Overall the album is soothing and puts you in a good mood. The catchy beat and their voices make you want to give it another listen. I am sure, it can be a good addition to your music collection.
