How To Keep Warm And Still Look Glamorous On Winter Evenings

It’s starting to feel really cold, and we’re waking up to a winter wonderland of frost and snow in the mornings. So winter is the perfect time for a personal style makeover from a fashion consultant – to get that perfect look that is glamorous but will keep you warm.

You don’t have to sacrifice your style just because you want to be warm. Ask any personal stylist, and they’ll tell you that it’s all about the layers. Wearing a base layer under everything will keep you really cosy on winter evenings. Fleece tights and a cute little camisole worn under your clothes can add a touch of style whilst still being practicable for the cold.

Another thing you need to think about is keeping your feet warm as well as your body. When winter comes, you want to keep your ankles and feet warm. Ankle boots are hugely popular every season, and they’re so practical for the cold weather. Not only will your entire foot be warm and protected, but you can get away with wearing really warm, thick socks as well.

Layering is key if you’re going to be outside in winter. But you have to be clever with it, so you can go from outside to in and still be comfortable. Make sure the bottom layer you’re wearing is looking stylish without the top layers. Your second layer should be clothes that you can take off easily, and try to opt for layers that won’t shed lint.

Don’t wear too tight clothes in winter. A bit of airflow in between all the layers actually keeps you warmer. Wearing a loose cardigan or poncho over multiple layers is comfortable, warm and really glamourous.

You may think now it’s cold it’s time to put the dresses and skirts away. But this isn’t necessarily the case. Skirts and dresses are perfect for layering. Leather skirts are very on trend this year for looking chic, and you can wear funky, colourful tights to really set the look off.

Remember when it’s cold, no one is expecting you to look like Kate Moss. Although you may want to stay stylish, remember that it’s freezing outside, and you need to keep warm. Take a break from the heels before you break your neck, and bulk up those layers to be really warm on these winters evenings.
