We are sharing our recent interview with Melissa Lianne Woods, a UK based actress who has worked in Hollywood as well and we have come to know that she is hoping to move to LA in the next few month.

Melissa Lianne Woods

Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Melissa Lianne Woods : My name is Melissa Lianne Woods and I am a British Actress.
Besides acting, I love nature and being outdoors, taking my dog on long hikes and participating in sports such as climbing, skiing and even sky diving.

Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into acting?
Melissa Lianne Woods : My Grandma was an actress and kept all of the scripts from projects she had worked on. I grew up reading them and over time me and my cousin used to put on shows in her garden. We would erect a stage, write scripts and choreograph performances. We had music, costume and set changes. It was very professional to say we were only 8 years old. We even charged our parents admission to come and see us.
I was very close to my Grandma and she taught me to play piano as well.

Pro Media Mag : What have you been doing before getting into acting?
Melissa Lianne Woods : I am the biggest Disney fan in the world. When I turned 18, I moved over to Florida to work at Walt Disney World. It was then I realised how lucky I was to be able to live and work in a place that some people may never get the opportunity to go and visit.
When I returned to the UK I set up a children’s entertainment business, so I could bring some of the magic of Disney to less fortunate children and give them the opportunity to meet their favourite characters and heroes. I was a Princess long before Meghan Markle (haha).

Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recent release projects?
Melissa Lianne Woods : I have just returned from a stint in LA where I had two lead roles in the films ‘Play Along’ and ‘Trippy’.
I absolutely fell in love with Hollywood and cannot wait to return there later this year.

Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being an actor?
Melissa Lianne Woods : When I was a child I wanted to grow up to be a princess, a ballet dancer, a nurse, an astronaut, a lawyer – you name it, I wanted to be it. The amazing thing about acting is you can do and be anything. Every single job is different and no two days are ever the same.

Pro Media Mag : What’s the biggest achievement in your career so far?
Melissa Lianne Woods : I think to say I am a working actor and no longer need another job to supplement my income is a huge achievement. I have worked so hard for a very long time and it is amazing to see my hard work finally pay off.

Pro Media Mag : what advice I would give to other actors?
Melissa Lianne Woods : I think the best advice I could give to other actors is to just enjoy yourself and remember why you got into it in the first place. Acting should be FUN. It’s like being a child all over again, using your imagination and playing make believe.
The entertainment business can be a very hard industry to be a part of; constant rejection can leave you feeling like you are not good enough. Know that you are good enough!
Work hard, dream big and never give up.

Pro Media Mag : Our readers would like to know about your upcoming projects?
Melissa Lianne Woods : I have a few exciting projects coming up. I will be starting work shortly on a new pilot called Sysegi which is about 3 girls from completely different lives and backgrounds who move to LA and become unlikely friends. The relationship between the 3 girls, even though they are so different, is really endearing and I think something that people will relate to.
