Chazzy Patel

Pro Media Mag : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career. How did you end up as a photographer?
Chazzy Patel :  I began working as a photographer from leaving the U.S Army. I had worked with a few photographers shadowing them, used the internet to learn skills I didn’t have and got them. I have had some technical training from a few photography workshops and the guidance of good professionals in the industry over the year, but I am mostly self-taught.

Pro Media Mag : Apart from photography you are a talented writer as well. Who or what inspired you to become a writer?
Chazzy Patel :   Photography is my first art form for storytelling but sometimes, I wasn’t able to express the tales of my life thru a lens and free my imagination the way I wanted. The inspiration has always come from how I see and shoot first. With words, I just get to rumble when a photo stops telling the story eats at me inside.

Some of my favorite writers who also inspire me are: Kerouac, Ian Fleming, Steinbeck, Salinger are the classic favorites. As far as current works, I have too many specific interests and favorites to list.

Pro Media Mag : Tell us briefly about your new novel High Season: The Learnings of Mohammad Wang’?
Chazzy Patel :  High Season will be my first book in a strange way and well needed art therapy. I had written two manuscripts while I was traveling the past few years from 2009 to 2015. Last year, I had been attacked and loss a great deal of my memories from a head injury and the way I processed things around me. This also included forgetting that I had written two manuscripts. Using those manuscripts, photography, the internet, a good therapist, dorky lawyer, support of friends and family… I slowly pieced myself together again…lol…Somewhat.

Pro Media Mag : What motivated you to write this book? Your book is written for any particular kind of people?
Chazzy Patel : High Season: The Learnings of Mohammad Wang was essentially a medical suggestion to continue documenting my thoughts, ideas, and things I remembered. Throwing in my own chaotic past, friends, pirates, a tropical paradise, humorous imagination, and a 500 year old gold heist, I began writing High Season in May 2016 finishing the first draft in June.

No particular kind of people. Pretty much anyone over the age of 18. There is some colorful language and philosophies not suitable for children or fans of the current U.S. President. The novel takes place in Mexico! I don’t think they are interested in the book anyhow unless it shows them how to build their silly wall.

Pro Media Mag : What do you enjoy more photography or writing?
Chazzy Patel : Photography is my real passion. I have been doing it as a novice and professional most of my life and have literally forgotten many things along the way that pictures can revitalize, but the last few years, writing has become a very helpful friend in healing from many of life’s unexpected experiences.

I enjoy being able to go back and forth between the two mediums. As far as writing is concerned, our skilled experts will edit your paper in accordance with your strict requirements.

Pro Media Mag : What are hobbies in free time?
Chazzy Patel :  At the moment, I haven’t had time to enjoy them but I enjoy sitting on the beach and doing absolutely nothing. Just taking in the peace of it… but when I am not doing that, I like to do a lot of international travel, long-distance motorcycling, watersports, volunteering for causes I feel are important, cooking dinners with my friends, astrophotography and international spy games…kidding, I am the worst person to tell a secret. lol

Pro Media Mag : While writing, do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
Chazzy Patel : High Season is a very personal novel for me. So in that sense, I wrote this for myself and what it could help me understand things with myself. I did, however, need to be very concise of how my readers could be entertained from the first paragraph to the last.

Pro Media Mag : What are your future goals? Have you set some targets to achieve ?
Chazzy Patel : Near future goals are to get High Season: The Learnings of Mohammad Wang into as many reader’s hands by May 1, 2017. Hopefully, after a break on some beach, I will publish Book 2 – The Coin Compass. It’s already been written.

Pro Media Mag : Are you active on social media? What’s the best way to follow you online?
Chazzy Patel : I am. I can be found at Facebook.com/highseasonthenovel and Twitter @justchazzy.
