Pro Media Mag : Please introduce yourself to the readers and how and when did you first get into writing?
A.C. Greenlee : My name is A.C. Greenlee and I write Paranormal Romance, Action, Fantasy and Adventure. I am twenty-six years old and I was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee. Other than being a writer, web designer and complete and utter video game nerd, I spend a lot of time reading any and everything I can get my hands on. I have written five feature length novels, an anthology, and a heaping of short stories. I started telling stories at a very young age and that eventually transitioned into writing short stories to share with my friends. By the time I was thirteen I had garnered a small following on the internet via fan fiction writing communities. At twenty-one I decided to pursue writing as a profession, and at twenty-two I published my first novel under my current publishing house, Lillium Publishing.

Pro Media Mag : What is your favorite part about being an author?
A.C. Greenlee : My favorite part is getting to share my stories with people around the world. Knowing that my work can entertain and hopefully inspire someone I otherwise would never have met makes me immensely happy. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my readers and talking about my characters, stories and the writing journey that gets us all to the same place.

Pro Media Mag : What kind of novels you like to write?
A.C. Greenlee : My favorite genres are Paranormal, Romance and Fantasy but I like to experiment with mixing genres just to see what results I can get. I’ve currently been playing around with Science Fiction and Erotica which has made my readers lose their minds. Apparently I’m doing something right.

Pro Media Mag : Tell us about some of your recent work?
A.C. Greenlee : My latest book is Genesis: The Awakening. I finished writing it in 2014 and sat on it for nearly three years because I wasn’t sure how my audience would receive it. In the three years it took me to write it I was inspired by many things; the Villisca Axe Murders in Villisca Iowa, several Japanese Anime such as Unbreakable Machine Doll, Full Metal Alchemist, High School of the Dead and Psycho Pass. A great deal of my inspiration for Genesis also came from the fact that I wanted to write about a character who had all the classic traits of an ass-kicking heroine, but still had the capacity to be soft, feminine and make a ton of mistakes. In other words I wanted to create a character who was human in every possible way, and yet wasn’t.

Pro Media Mag : Do you need any certain environment or inspiration for writing?
A.C. Greenlee : Not at all! Any environment is cohesive to my writing so long as I can wear my headphones, listen to music and ignore the world around me. And inspiration can come in any and all forms. From a stray “what if” thought to a certain scene in a music video. It depends on the story and what it’s asking for at that point in time.

Pro Media Mag : What do you do when you are not writing?
A.C. Greenlee : I play lots of video games. And I do mean a lot. From PC to console gaming, I’m a part of it all. I find them relaxing and even inspirational in terms of my writing. If I ever need to write a bloody war scene, I know to pop in Call of Duty and play a couple rounds to get in the “fighting spirit” so to speak.

Pro Media Mag : You also studied creative writing how much it helped you developed your writing skills?
A.C. Greenlee : To be honest I didn’t think obtaining a bachelors and masters degree in creative writing would help my writing, but I was wrong. My degrees have a focus in entertainment, screenwriting, and even writing for video games. What my education gave me was a solid foundation for multi genre and multi medium writing. It gave me the ability to write from a different perspective and take risks that I otherwise wouldn’t have dreamed of. And I believe it definitely benefits my writing style.

Pro Media Mag : What’s you goal you want to achieve as writer?
A.C. Greenlee : As a writer I don’t really have a goal so much as to continue to share the worlds and characters I create with anyone willing to experience them. Because, as a writer, that’s what I aim to create: an experience. Something you’ll remember for years to come.

Pro Media Mag : Are you working on any future projects?
A.C. Greenlee : Currently I am working on the sequel to my early 2016 novel Bad Grades. Entitled Bad Intentions, it follows Henri, twin brother to Daniel from the first novel, on his journey to usurp and dismantle the treacherous Paragon Genetic Solutions, a company that kidnaps and exploits child psychics, turned him into a killing machine and nearly succeeded in doing the same thing to his twin. It’s scheduled for release in Spring 2017. Please look forward to it!
