A conversation with fantasy books author J. Edwards Holt

Today in our interview section we will be sharing our recent conversation with J. Edwards Holt an author of fantasy books.

J. Edwards Holt

Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
J. Edwards Holt : I’m J. Edwards Holt. I am an author of fantasy books, typically read and enjoyed by kids, teens, and young adults. My works have been compared to that of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, both of which are two of my role models and favorite authors. I currently have a book series on the market, called the “Little Men, Big Treasures” series. As of right now, there are two books in the series, with the third and final book on the way.

Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into writing?
J. Edwards Holt : I enjoyed writing from a very young age. In elementary school I was one of the few students who enjoyed taking the annual writing test. In fourth grade, I wrote and illustrated comic books, eventually selling them to my peers for $0.25/book. Growing up, people around me always encouraged me to write. In high school, I did a lot of writing (a number of unpublished fan fiction stories). After high school, I took a break from writing, until seven years later, when a friend’s father became a published author. This reminded me of my love for writing and inspired me to write my first book “Little Men, Big Treasures”.

Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recent release?
J. Edwards Holt : My most recent release is a short story I wrote called “Small Courage: A Short Story”. It’s a tale of faith and bravery and learning not to judge others based on what we hear about them. It is currently available as an ebook on Amazon for only $0.99. It is also free for those who are subscribed to Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited reading service.

Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received so far?
J. Edwards Holt : So far I have received good feedback from my editors as well as my readers. People seem to be responding positively to my stories, and many of them encourage me to keep doing what I’m doing.

Pro Media Mag : Do you need some particular kind of environment for writing?
J. Edwards Holt : I have to have a quiet room in order to write. I write best in a room with minimal distractions. Occasionally I can work with various noises going on around me, but in most cases I do my best work in quiet environments.

Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being an author?
J. Edwards Holt : One of the best parts about being an author is meeting people who have read my books. Running across someone and having them recognize me as an author of a book they have read is a great feeling. Hearing that someone is a fan of my work is an amazing thing that encourages me to keep writing.

Pro Media Mag : Have you set some goals to achieve?
J. Edwards Holt : One of my main goals was to become a published author, a goal which I achieved a little over two years ago. Aside from that, I hope to teach and inspire with my books, as well as entertain my readers.

Pro Media Mag : Are you working on any new project?
J. Edwards Holt : Yes. I am currently working on the third installment of my “Little Men, Big Treasures” series. I have not decided on an official title just yet, but book three will bring the trilogy to an epic conclusion. I am in the early stages of writing the story, but I hope to release this book in the next year or so.
